The thermistor relays the engine temperature to the 8010 unit by measuring the coolant temperature
Its electrical resistance is of the PTC type (Positive Temperature Coefficient); this resistance increases as the temperature increases

The thermostat measures the engine temperature via the thermistor
The ECU carries out the following functions
- Controls the fans via relays
- Illuminates the warning lights on the instrument panel (stop + maximum water temperature)
- Cuts out the air conditioning function via relay 8015 (a)
- Transmits Engine Hot information to the vehicle air conditioning unit (a)
- Controls the post-cooling (a)
- Controls the fans at high speed in the case of refrigerant pressure greater than 17 bars (a)
