Vehicles operated using natural gas can be provided with CNG at special gas stations. In general, anyone familiar with the operation and equipment of the vehicle from the information in the owner's manuals is able to fill the tanks. In addition, the instructions on the tank system must be observed.
The modified filler port with the connections for filling with CNG or with petrol is located under the standard fuel filler flap. Compared to filling up a petrol-driven vehicle, filling up the Zafira CNG using the available CNG tank connection will prevent hands from getting dirty.
There are also no harmful and unpleasant odours from benzene, for example.
The following must be observed when filling the tanks:
- 1. Only fill up with CNG at fuel stations with CNG filling facilities.
- 2. Ignition "Off" and open fuel filler flap.
- 3. Remove dust cap from the CNG filler connection retainer.
- 4. Follow instructions at the fuel station for filling the tank.
- 5. Ensure secure seating of the adapter with the filler connection.
- 6. After the pressure gas tank has been filled, seal off the filler connection again with the dust cap.
- 7. Close the fuel filler flap.
