Remedy:
Installation of the thermostat housing with a new gasket.
Working procedure:
1. Remove air filter housing - see work procedure "R&R Airfilter housing" in Group "J" of the Service Procedure for Movano. 2. Remove cylinderhead cover - see work procedure "R&R gasket of the Cylinderhead cover" in Group "J" of the Service Procedure Movano. 3. Remove coolant hoses from thermostat housing - place suitable collector / container underneath vehicle.
NOTE: 3 original hose clamps which will be destroyed during dissassembly have to be replaced by ‘screw-type’ hose clamps.
4. Remove all cable connectors from the thermostat housing. 5. Remove thermostat housing from cylinderhead. 6. Remove remaining gasket residue from the gasket areas on the cylinderhead and the thermostat housing. 7. Remove grease from the above gasket surfaces and place gasket in position. 8. Install thermostat housing onto cylinderhead - torque to 25Nm.
NOTE: Pay attention to the position of the thermostat upper housing which has to brought in line with the gasket surface of the cylinderhead cover and/or the cylinderhead gasket respectively with a straight-edge. 9. Install coolant hoses with the new hose clamps to the thermostat housing. 10. Install cable connectors to the thermostat housing. 11. Clean gasket surfaces on the cylinderhead cover and cylinderhead and remove grease. 12. Install cylinder cover with new gasket to the cylinderhead - see Workprocedure "Replace gasket of the cylinderhead cover" in Group "J" of the Service Procedure Movano - with a torque of 10 Nm. 13. Install cylinderhead cover to cylinderhead. 14. Install airfilter housing - see Work Procedure "R&R Airfilter" in Group "J" of the der Service Procedure Movano. 15. Top up coolant.

Labourtimes: TC: Hours: T8 128 80 Installation of the thermostat 92 1.3 housing with new gasket.
