| Complaint: | Slight pinging noise during gear change and slight acceleration. Only vehicles with new cylinder head and EGR affected. See Quick Information 1538. |

| Cause: | The ignition point is adapted for a good throttle response after gear change. In combination with high intake air temperature a slight pinging noise could be audible. |
| Production: | As of July 2004 an improved software has been introduced in production. |
In case of customer complaint reprogram the ECU with software as of TIS 2000 CD 52. It is not necessary to exchange parts.
