Field Remedy: 1409

Remedy:

In case of customer complaint remove and clean fuel tank and sender/pump unit.

Affected Chassis Range:

VIN W0LF7BCA62V604465 to W0LF7BCA62V607778

Attention:

Heed Safety Regulations - Engine, Fuel and Exhaust System.

Working Procedure:

1. Remove fuel tank

- see working procedure "Fuel Tank, Replace", group "L", Service Instruction Vivaro.

2. Remove sender/pump unit

- see working procedure " Sensor Unit, Fuel Tank, Replace ", group "L", Service Instruction Vivaro.

3. Check sender/pump unit to ensure fuel inlet is clear (picture I, arrow).

Note:

If debris is blocking the fuel inlet of the sender/pump unit remove debris contamination.

4. View inside of sender/pump unit to ensure no debris is present.

Note:

If debris is present flush sender/pump unit with diesel to remove.

5. Add 3 litre of fuel to tank through sender/pump unit aperture. 6. Flush/swirl fuel within tank and drain to clear container. 7. Check tank for further debris contamination.

Note:

Repeat until tank is confirmed as free of debris.

8. Install sender/pump unit with new seal ring

- see working procedure "Sensor Unit, Fuel Tank, Replace", group "L", Service Instruction Vivaro.

9. Install fuel tank

- see working procedure " Fuel Tank, Replace ", group "L", Service Instruction Vivaro.

10. Bleed fuel system

- see working procedure "Diesel Fuel System, Bleed", group "L", Service Instruction Vivaro.
