| Cause: | Noise caused by damaged idler pulley bearing due to high clamping force. |
| Production: | Reduced idler pulley tightening torque (from 50 +/- 7 Nm to 40 +/- 7 Nm) introduced in production as of VIN W0L0ZCF4861041236 (31.10.2005). |
In case of customer complaint replace damaged idler pulley (Partnumber: 97312464 / Cataloguenumber: 56 36 437) and assemble new one with reduced torque of 40 +/- 7 Nm. Adjust ribbed-V-belt tension according to TIS 2000 Service Instruction. Service Instruction is currently in revision.
