Side tension too high Adjust to correct tension - belt whines / squeals

Side tension too low Adjust to correct tension -belt strikes against cover

Problem and cause: Remedy:

Belt not running parallel to axis Align correctly and impacting against flanged pulley

Deflective flanged pulley Replace sprocket

Gearwheel misalign Align correctly - belt cannot run true

Side tension too high Adjust to correct tension
