Usage of new special tool KM-6161 Remover

Movano with front brake discs retained by the hubs.
Condition
As of June 2000 a new special tool is available for separating the front hub and brake disc assembly from the steering knuckle. The following information will assist in the use of this tool for separating the hub and steering knuckle when required for part replacement such as front brake disc or hub bearings.
To disassemble hub from steering knuckle
Remove hub and steering knuckle from vehicle - see operation ”Hub and Brake Disc, Remove and Install” in the Movano Service Instructions, group E.
Offer hub and steering knuckle assembly to Holder KM-6161. Fit tapered pin (1) through upper mounting of steering knuckle and loosely fit washer and nut. Fit straight pin (3) through lower mounting of steering knuckle. Fit original pinch bolt (2) into steering knuckle lower mounting point to locate straight pin in position. Tighten nut of tapered pin. Tighten pinch bolt.

To remove bearings from hub
| Remove circlip from steering knuckle. Using suitable remover, press bearing from steering knuckle. | |||

To install bearings to knuckle
Using Remover / Installer KM-6161/5, press bearing into steering knuckle.
Caution:
Ensure that pressure is applied only to the outer bearing race otherwise damage will occur.

To assemble steering knuckle to hub.
To assemble, place hub and brake disc assembly face downwards on a block of wood to protect wheel studs. Using Remover / Installer KM-6161/5 press steering knuckle on to hub and brake disc assembly.
Caution:
Ensure that pressure is applied only to the inner bearing race otherwise damage will occur.
Install hub and steering knuckle to vehicle — see operation ”Hub and Brake Disc, Remove and Install” in the Movano Service Instructions, group E.
