| Cause: | Water enters air intake channel causing damage of the HFM sensor membrane. |
| Production: | Additional seal at bonnet installed as of VIN: W0L0HAF683G076076 (06/16/2003). |
Remedy:
In case of customer complaint replace air mass meter and install an additional seal to the bonnet as following described.
Working Procedure:
1. Replace mass air flow meter
- see working procedure "J741000 Mass Air Flow Meter, Replace", group "J", Service Instruction Agila.
2. Remove seal at bonnet up to the third fastening clip (arrow) (Picture I, 1).
3. Install new seal with both fastening clips to the bonnet (Picture II, 1).
Note:
Install bonding surface even to the bonnet.
4. Cut standard seal analogical (Picture II, arrow).

The costs for this repair will be covered for vehicles not older than 3 years and a mileage lower than 100.000 Km. The regular warranty procedure should be used for claiming Set-up-time.
