When converting vehicles from R12 to R134a, some compressors SD508, SD510 and SD709 need replacement of the shaft seal to eliminate the risk of leaks

The shaft seal is supplied by Parts Division under the following part numbers

• SD508 - SD510: реферанс P.R 6453.T6

Снятие

Position the peg spanner [7]

Slacken the central nut with the spanner and socket

Снять центральную гайку

Установить съемник [8]

Check that it is parallel to the drive plate face

Снять приводной шкив

Remove the cotter (1) taking care not to damage the surface of the shaft

Using retaining ring pliers, remove the felt washer (2) (fitted to the metal ring)

Remove the contact disc retaining ring (3) from the sealing ring, taking care not to damage the contact surfaces

Компрессор SD508 - SD510

Using the tool [1], remove the contact disc (4)

Remove the O-ring (5) taking care not to damage the contact surfaces

Компрессор SD709

Remove the contact disc (6) from the sealing ring as follows

• Engage the tool [5] inside the hub
• Position the notches (A) of the tool [5] in the notches (B) of the contact disc (6)
• Повернуть приспособление на 90 °
• Remove the contact disc (6) by pulling on the tool [5]

Remove the sealing ring as follows

• Engage the tool [3] or [4] inside the hub
• Push downwards, compressing the spring (8)
• Turn the tool [3] or [4] until it engages with the sealing ring (9)
• Remove the sealing ring (9) by pulling on the tool [3] or [4]

Установка

Position the tool [2] at the end of the shaft

Coat the tool [2] and the interior of the hub with SP20 oil

Fit the new sealing ring (9) on the tool [3] or [4]

Slowly guide the sealing ring (9) to the bottom of the hub sliding it on the tool [2]

Remove the tool [3] or [4] as follows

• Completely compress the internal spring (8)
• Turn the tool [3] or [4] to detach it from the sealing ring (9) and then remove it

Компрессор SD709

Fit the new disc (6) to the tool [5]

Engage the assembly on the tool [2], guide it until it locks on the sealing ring (9)

Release the tool [5] by turning it 1/4 turn

Компрессор SD508 - SD510

Установить новое уплотнение круглого сечения (5)

Using the tool [1], refit the contact disc (4)

Снять приспособление [2]

Refit the retaining ring (3)

Установите

• Регулировочные прокладки (3)
• The new felt washer (2) using a 19 mm socket
• Шпонку (1)

Position the drive plate

Установить новую гайку (/) (Затяжка моментом...3,5 дН.м)

Снять компрессор с опоры [6]
