The vehicles Astra G and Zafira have been utilized with various electrical hydraulically power steering systems (EHPS) of different suppliers and generations. The steering system consists of a power pack (electrical hydraulic unit) and the appropriate steering gear. A combination of different suppliers or/and generations GEN. is not allowed. The TRW EHPS-system GEN. I and the Delphi EHPS-system have been superseded by the TRW EHPS-system GEN. II in model year 2000,5 running change. Even TRW-systems GEN. I and TRW-systems GEN. II are not interchangeable due to different hydraulic pressures - TRW-systems GEN. I (100 bar) and TRW-systems GEN. II (80 bar). The TRW-systems GEN. I are recognizable by the cooling ribs of the power pack inspite of a plain power pack of TRW-system GEN. II. The replacement of an entire system by another generation or supplier is possible.
