Switching on the system
On pressing the switch (7300) the control unit (7310) is supplied with 12 +ve at its terminal 10
The cruise control system will operate only in the following conditions

- The brake safety switch (7308) is closed (no action on the brake pedal)
- The brake safety switch (2100) is open (no action on the brake pedal)
- The clutch safety switch (7306) is closed (no action on the clutch pedal)
- The safety relay is closed (automatic gearbox) (selector lever in position 1,2,3,D)
Stalk moved upwards
The vehicle is not in cruise control
- If no speed is stored in memory, moving the stalk upwards will store the vehicle's current speed
- If a speed is already memorised, moving the stalk upwards recalls the memorised speed
The vehicle is in cruise control
- Moving the stalk upwards corresponds to an increase of speed
- Maintaining this action for more than 0,5 second(s) results in acceleration of the vehicle, releasing the stalk memorises the current vehicle speed
On each movement
- The control unit (7310) is supplied with 12 V +ve at terminal 3
- The control unit (7310) controls the vacuum pump (7315) through terminal (7) which causes the throttle butterfly to open wider
Stalk pulled towards the steering wheel
Moving the stalk towards the steering wheel cancels the cruise control function but the control unit (7310) retains in memory the last speed memorised
When it is moved
- Terminal (2) on the control unit (7310) is no longer supplied with 12 V
- The control unit (7310) controls the breather solenoid valve (7315) through terminal (6) which causes a slow deceleration of the vehicle
Stalk moved downwards
The vehicle is not in cruise control: скорость автомобиля превышает 40 км/ч moving the stalk downwards memorises the current vehicle speed
The vehicle is in cruise control
- Moving the stalk downwards corresponds to a decrease in speed
- Maintaining this action for more than 0,5 second(s) results in, deceleration of the vehicle, releasing the stalk memorises the current vehicle speed
On each movement
- The control unit (7310) is supplied with 12 V +ve at terminal 4
- The control unit (7310) controls the breather solenoid valve (7315) through terminal (6) which causes a slow deceleration of the vehicle
In operation, the control unit (7310) continuously compares the memorised speed and the current vehicle speed by means of a signal supplied by the vehicle speed interface unit
As a result of this continuous comparison, the ECU (7310) controls the following components
- The vacuum pump (7315) via terminal (7) if the memorised speed is greater than the vehicle's current speed
- The breather solenoid valve (7315) through terminal (6) if the memorised speed is lower than the current vehicle speed
This device enables vehicle speed to be maintained at the memorised speed whatever the route

- The stop lamp switch (2100) closes and the control unit (7310) is supplied with 12 V +ve at terminal (5)
- The safety switch (7308) opens and the control unit (7310) is no longer supplied with 12 V +ve at terminal (9)
The safety solenoid valve (7320) is no longer supplied by 12 V +ve at terminal (1)
The vacuum capsule is subject to atmospheric pressure and the vehicle decelerates

If the driver presses the clutch pedal, the switch 7306 opens
- The control unit 7310 is no longer supplied with 12 V +ve at terminal (9)
- The safety solenoid valve (7320) is no longer supplied with 12 V +ve at terminal (1)
- The vacuum capsule is subject to atmospheric pressure and the vehicle decelerates
Action on the gear lever (automatic transmission)
If the driver moves the lever from position 1,2,3 or D to N, the starter inhibitor switch (1000) supplies 12 V +ve to terminal 1 on the starter inhibitor relay (1005)
- This relay closes and breaks the earth of the safety relay (7307) which opens and the control unit (7310) is no longer supplied with 12 V +ve at terminal 9
- The safety solenoid valve (7320) is no longer supplied with 12 V +ve at terminal (1)
- The vacuum capsule is subject to atmospheric pressure and the vehicle decelerates
