Replacing Clean Air Filter

Astra-G with Air Conditioning System - System A
Condition:
For reasons of continual product improvement, the operation "Clean Air Filter, Replace - System A (Behr)" in the Astra-G Service Instructions has been modified as described in the following.
This change will be incorporated in future editions of the Service Instructions.
General:
Two dissimilar air distributor housings are used, which are differentiated in the electronic parts catalogue using the additional designations "Delphi” and "Behr”.
They can be visually differentiated by the vertical separation within the air distributor housing in the lower area of the footwell on the driver's side.

Remove glove compartment - see operation "Glove Compartment, Remove and Install" in group "C" of the Service Instructions.
Unlock and open clean air filter/ evaporator service cover (2 latches and 3 clips - arrows). Remove clean air filter.
Remove sealing compound on housing groove and lip of clean air filter / evaporator service cover in area illustrated (1) so that the service cover can be closed tight.

Slide in clean air filter, apply sealing compound to housing groove in area illustrated (1). Close and lock clean air filter/ evaporator service cover (2 latches and 3 clips - arrows).
Apply sealing compound to edge of housing for clean air filter/ evaporator cover in area illustrated (1).
Install glove compartment.
Note:
| Seal the transitional area for the clean air filter/ evaporator of the service cover with particular care. Leaks in the service cover area lead to water ingress in the front passenger footwell. | |||

Important:
The specified time allowances do not include the time allowance for the vehicle set-up of .2 hrs.
For reimbursement of the vehicle set-up time of .2 hrs in warranty claims, enter the authorisation code ”T” and increase the main operation time allowance by .2 hrs.
