Noise or vibrations.

Flow noise (gurgle) from the area of the heater core at 3000 - 3500 rpm and deactivated heating.

Cause:

Manufacturing tolerances of coolant shut-off valve.

Production Solution:

Coolant shut-off valve is not longer used from: VIN YB 009 020 (Bertone) , VIN Y8 169 594 (Ellesmere Port), VIN Y6 156 195 (Eisenach) , VIN Y5 338 957 (Antwerpen) , VIN Y2 314 649 (Bochum) .

Remedy:

Special Part:

None

Disconnect coolant shut-off valve electrically when open.

Working procedure:

1. Remove heater/AC control unit.

- see working procedure "Heater/AC controls, remove and reinstall system A" respectively "Heater/AC controls, remove and reinstall system B", unit "D" Service Instruction of the affected carline.

2. After removal of control unit, connect wiring harness connector control unit with control unit.

3. Connect battery, turn ignition on, turn rotary button hot/cool air to "MAX"-hot and disconnect wiring harness connector control unit from control unit.

4. Turn ignition off and disconnect battery.

5. Remove cable from wiring harness connector heater/AC control unit for Behr cable 2 (red/white) and cable 3 (brown/white) , for Delphi cable 4 (black/blue) and cable 5 (black/yellow) with MKM-923-A (pic., arrow).

6. Insulate removed cable with insulation tape and attach wiring harness. Install heater/AC control unit.
