Condition / Remedies:

1. AIR FLOW

Blower is working on speed four only.

This is caused by thermal fuse failure. Replace the resistor only. Check for any obstruction to blower fan rotation that would allow the thermal fuse to overheat, and remove as necessary. (Vauxhall Technical Bulletin 01 — FR — 02)

The information in this bulletin should not be interpreted as the basis for claims unless so designated.

All component(s) fitted under warranty could be requested for return to the Warranty Material Return Centre, if after examination the components are found to be ‘No Fault Found’ then the component(s) could be returned and your account debited accordingly.

Blower is not working on any speed.

· Check that harness connections are good at IP connection to the HVAC module, to the back of the control head, and at the blower connection to the resistor. Make good any bad connections.

· Check the condition of the blower red wire terminal connection to the resistor. If there is evidence of melting or burning re - terminate the wire and replace the resistor, re - connect the re - terminated wire to the resistor pin.

· Check the condition of the main 30 amp car fuse and replace if necessary.

· If the fuse has failed then measure the current drawn by the fan when the fan speed dial is set to position 4. If the current drawn in fan speed four is greater than 26 amps then replace the blower.

· If the fan wheel cannot be spun freely by hand check for any debris that may be obstructing its rotation and remove it. If the fan wheel will not turn freely and there is no visible obstruction then replace the blower.

Blower is working intermittently.

· Check the condition of the blower red wire terminal connection to the resistor. If there is evidence of melting or burning re - terminate the wire and replace the resistor, then re - connect the re - terminated wire to the resistor pin.

· Check that harness connections are good at IP connection to the HVAC module, to the back of the control head, and at the blower connection to the resistor. Make good any bad connections.

· If intermittent operation continues replace the blower assembly.

2. NOISY HVAC

Blower is noisy in operation.

· Refer to Vauxhall Technical Bulletin TI - C - 1 for the procedure to be followed in dealing with a suspected noisy blower.

· Noise may be caused by the presence of debris inside the blower or at the air inlet grill. Remove any debris and re - check for noise

3. AIR DISTRIBUTION

Control head switches sticking.

· This may be caused by interference between the buttons and the central instrument panel. Re - fit the control head within the CIP taking care to avoid interference. If this does not resolve the problem a small amount of material can be removed from the CIP button hole. Ref Vauxhall Field Remedy 00 - FR - 51.

· If the above measures do not fix the problem then replace the control head assembly.

Control head dials stiff to operate or jammed.

· On the back of the control head check to see if the lever is out of the cam groove on the airflow direction dial. Re - fit as necessary. Ref Vauxhall Technical Bulletin TI - C - 27.

· Within the cockpit assembly feel for any obstruction or kinking of the bowden cable. Reposition or replace bowden cable as necessary.

Intermittent recirculation function and illumination.

· Note: by design it is not possible to recirculate air within the car while the airflow direction dial is set to demist. Also the switch will not illuminate in this mode. This is covered in the vehicle owner’s manual. Ref Vauxhall Technical Bulletin TI - C - 28.

4. A / C OPERATION

No cold air

· Disconnect the evaporator freeze probe at the red connector on the module. With the ignition on, and using a multimeter across the red connector pins, check that there is an electrical signal from the control head when the AC push button is operated. If there is no signal, replace the control head.

· Check for electrical continuity across the freeze probe. If there is no continuity create a short circuit across the brown / white and brown / green wires connecting the freeze probe to the control head. The freeze probe does not need to be replaced.
