A sensor is fitted between the rear axle and the vehicle underbody to determine the vehicle height. The sensor detects changes in the angle of inclination of the vehicle body in relation to the road surface and transmits the relevant data to the xenon control unit. When the ignition is switched on, the stepper motors for the headlamp range control set a calibrated headlamp range.
