| Subject: | Headrest Rod Length 2nd Row seat - Too long |
|---|
| Models: | Engines: | Option: |
|---|---|---|
| Vivaro 2001...2003 | All | Vivaro Combi with 3rd row seat option only |
| Complaint: | Potential for long headrest rods of 2nd row seats to protrude through the seat material when seat folded flat (seen mainly on vehicles with frequent use to seat mechanism ). |
|---|---|
| Cause: | No protection between long headrest rod and seat material. |
| Production: | Shorter headrest rods in production as of VIN W0LJ7ACA63V626693 (20. March 2003). |
Remedy:
In case of customer complaint the shorter headrests can easily be installed to replace the longer ones (the shorter rod of the headrests will not foul the seat material). If the vehicle is equipped with the front passenger bench seat option both the headrests from this seat can be transferred into the 2nd row seats. The original 2nd row seat headrests can also be fitted back into the double bench seat.
Alternatively new headrests for the double bench seat can be ordered to fit into the rear.
The correct part number for the vehicles trim level will need to be obtained from EPC.
