| Complaint: | Coolant heater housing ring seal or hose connection melts resulting in engine coolant loss |
| Cause: | Relays remain closed allowing continuous operation of the individual coolant heaters |

In case of customer complaint visually inspect the coolant housing ring seal (Picture I, arrow) and hose connections. If signs of coolant loss are found replace the heater assembly and the 3 controlling relays K75, K87 (40 A, P/N 9 110 983 / Cat.No. 44 02 983) and K76 (60 A, P/N 91 166 799 / Cat.No. 44 08 880). Relays with a blue dot on the top of the housing are OK and has not to be replaced. Coolant hoses should be inspected and replaced as necessary.
