Subject:
Oil pump tightening torque has been changed.
Vehicles:
Vectra-B, Omega-B and Sintra with V6 DOHC petrol engine (X 25 XE and X 30 XE).
Condition:
The oil pump and oil pump gasket have been modified during the course of MY '99. The fastening bolts have been changed from M6 to M8. In addition, the oil pump gasket has been modified in a few areas. The changes affecting the installation sequence as compared with the previous version are insignificant, except that the oil pump tightening torque has been increased.
Remedy:
Lightly coat the new oil pump gasket only on the pump side with surface seal (green) 90 542 114 / 15 03 170 (recomended value approx. 0.2 mm).
Pre-install the fastening bolts in the prescribed sequence (1-7) with a tightening torque of 12 Nm/9 lbf. ft.
Install lower alternator fastening bolt - tightening torque 35 Nm/26 lbf. ft.
Tighten the oil pump fastening bolts with a tightening torque of 20 Nm/15 lbf. ft.
Note:
Re-cut the threads of the fastening bolts and insert them with screw locking compound 90 542 117 / 15 10 181 (red).
