| Complaint: | New instrument panel MY 2004 does not fit into respective vehicle MY 2003. |

| Cause: | Parts conversion of instrument panel with modified fastening wiring harness plug to instrument cluster. No compatibility between instrument panel MY 2003 and instrument panel MY 2004. |
| Production: | Only Meriva MY 2003 affected. As of MY 2004 the changed instrument panels have been fitted in production. |
Remedy:
In case of replacement of instrument panel modify the new instrument panel and the wiring harness of instrument cluster.
Working Procedure:
1. Remove instrument panel
- see working procedure "Instrument Panel Padding, Remove and Install", group "C", Service Instruction Meriva.
2. Remove strut (1) from new instrument panel (Picture I, arrows).
3. Loosen main wiring harness from cross member by removing cable strap (Picture II, 1). 4. Remove insulation (insulating tape) from ribbed plastic tube (Picture II, 2). 5. Remove ribbed plastic tube in the area "I". 6. Expose wiring harness instrument cluster (Picture II, 3).
7. Pull-out wiring harness of instrument cluster from main wiring harness approximately 9cm in direction of arrows (Picture III, 1 und 2). 8. Insulate wiring harness instrument cluster with damping strip (foam) (Picture III, 1 und 2).
9. Install main wiring harness with a cable strap to the cross member. 10. Install instrument panel
