Lifting detachment of the window-channel seal at the front and rear doors.

Cause:

Poor attachment of the window-channel seals on the front and rear doors.

Remedy:

Fasten the window-channel seals with countersunk screws.

Working instruction:

Window channel cover strip has to be removed at the B-pillar. This can be achieved by carefully pushing it upward from lower edge with plastic wedge tool. Remove the window-channel cover strip.

If the locking tounges of the window channel cover strip are damaged at the end near the B- and C-pillar then the complete part must be replaced.

Insert plastic wedge between window and door skin to avoid damage to the window during drilling.

Press the attachment strip firmly on the window channel door flange. Ensure that the ends of the attachment strip are seated correctly.

Drill hole through attachment strip and door panel.

Bore diameter: 2,5 mm.

Bore position: I = 35 mm; II = 4 mm

Counter sink screw holes.

Remove the swarf and spray preservation wax on the drilled hole.

Fix the attachment strip with two countersunk screws. Take care that the attachment strip does not become twisted.
