Loose or Comes off
Screw connection between exhaust manifold outlet and exhaust pipe becomes loose.
Cause:
Screw connection cannot be pulled on block due to weld splash in screwhead area on flange.
Production Solution:
Improved gasket introduced in production as of VIN:

Remedy:
In case of complaint proceed as described.
1. Remove screws.
2. Check and clean surface on flange of exhaust pipe for weld splash.
3. In case of weld splash front disassemble exhaust pipe, remove splash and reassemble front exhaust pipe.
4. If flange is free of weld splashes, insert stud bolt "dry" into manifold outlet (torque = 45 NM).
5. Spread the supporting surface of hexagon nut with paste and fasten front exhaust pipe with torque=45Nm.
