| Cause: | Damage of Turbocharger due to lack of oil or thermal overstress. |

Remedy:
In case of customer complaint the following failures can be detected: 1. Damage of the charger shaft friction bearing because of oil shortage -> Turbocharger has to be replaced. To avoid repeated charger failure it is strictly necessary to check the complete engine oil supply system (Oil pressure check according TIS).
In case of an engine oil exchange, the oil filter cartridge has to be pre-filled before installation. Note: Do not push the accelerator pedal before the oil pressure lamp goes off. Otherwise the turbo charger is rewing -up without sufficient oil supply causing a damage of the bearing. (This procedure will be added to the regular Inspection Procedure).
2. Imbalance due to thermal overstress A thermal overstress in mainly caused by increased boost pressure (Tuning - check the SPS data in the ECU). In such a case the warranty laim has to be refused and the customer has to be informed accordingly (please also refer to Field Remedy 1510)
