| Cause: | Failure due to a cracked diaphragm at waste gate actuator in turbo charger. Crack occurred during manufacturing process. |
| Production: | Introduction of a new tool. Improved turbo chargers have been introduced in production as of engine-breakpoint: 17K6032. |
In case of customer complaint handle the problem as follows:
The failure can easily detected by using the special tool MKM-667 (hand pump). Please apply vacuum to the waste gate actuator (vacuum box). If the vacuum drops rapidly its evident that the vacuum box is leaky. Only in this case the turbo charger (Part-No.: 24461825 / Catalogue-No.: 08 60 058)has to be replaced.
