| Complaint: | Squeaking noise while loading the backrest. |

| Cause: | Squeaking noises appear due to contact of the metall surfaces on the links of the active headrest. |
| Production: | As of 11/01/2002 all active headrests are equipped with modified links. |
Remedy:
In case of customer complaint replace the links of active headrest.
Attention:
Sharp edges. Danger of injury during working at the frame of frontseat backrest. Wear protective gloves.
Working Procedure:
1. Disconnect battery. 2. Remove active headrest and left and right link of active headrest
- see working procedure " Active Headrest Assembly, Remove and Install or Replace", group "C", of the corresponding Service Instruction.
Note:
Additional remove wiring harness plug from side airbag.
3. Shorten silencer(picture I).
4. Install active headrest and left and right modified link of active headrest with new screw and shortened silencer
- see working procedure " Active Headrest Assembly, Remove and Install or Replace", group "C", of the corresponding Service Instruction.
Note:
Additional install wiring harness plug to side airbag.
6. Connect battery. 7. Program volatile memories.
