| Cause: | Fusible link forms part of the harness and has not been available seperately. |
| Production: | No production change will be made for the current Vivaro however it will be updated for the Phase 2 expected 2007MY (August 2006) |
Remedy:
In case of customer complaint replace the original fusible link (FLB) with a new service replacement. The original is soldered into the main harness so the following proceedure should be followed. NO attempt should be made to repair the original fuse once blown.
1. Disconnect battery negative lead
2. Disconnect battery positive lead
3. Release battery positive harness from battery compartment • Release clip (1)
4. Remove heat shrink from positive lead • Cut off using suitable tool
5. Remove fusible link from positive lead • Cut off using suitable tool Note: Cut the positive lead as close as possible to the fusible link
6. Install new fusible link to positive lead • Remove approximately 20 mm of insulation from positive lead • Cut off using suitable tool • Position new heat shrink; do not apply heat at this stage • Crimp cable with fusible link • Use suitable crimping tool • Secure heat shrink • Apply heat using suitable tool and shrink
7. Secure battery positive harness to battery compartment • Secure clip (1)
8. Connect battery positive lead
9. Connect battery negative lead
10. Program all volatile memories
Please note that the above service operations will be included in TIS 2000-CD65 - August 05 (English language) and TIS 200-CD66 - September 05 (other languages). The Part-No. / Catalogue-No. (350A Fuse Petrol) will be published when parts are available.
