Housing - Recirculating Air Valve, Remove and Install - System A
Set recirculating air valve to recirculating air operation. Inner panelling for lower instrument panel padding (passenger's side) and glove compartment - see operation "Inner Panelling - Lower Instrument Panel Padding, Remove and Install" and "Glove Compartment, Remove and Install" in group "C". Front footwell air duct (passenger's side) - see operation "Air Duct - Front Footwell, Remove and Install".
Release and detach wiring harness plug for recirculating air valve motor and wiring harness plug for fan motor. Unclip recirculating air valve linkage. Fan motor with recirculating air valve motor - see operation "Fan Motor, Remove and Install".
Release recirculating air valve housing from inside (arrows).
Water deflector - see operation "Water Deflector, Remove and Install" in group "A".
Release bulkhead air intake. Remove air intake.
Release recirculating air valve housing from outside (arrows).
Pull recirculating air valve housing slightly forwards from inside and unscrew below steering crossmember.
Remove recirculating air valve housing.
Insert recirculating air valve housing and fasten from inside.
Fasten recirculating air valve housing from outside.
Bulkhead air intake to bulkhead, water deflector.
Wiring harness plug for fan motor and wiring harness plug for recirculating air valve motor, fan motor with recirculating air valve motor, recirculating air valve linkage.
Front footwell air duct (passenger's side), glove compartment, inner panelling for lower instrument panel padding (passenger's side).
Housing - Recirculating Air Valve, Remove and Install - System B
Set recirculating air valve to recirculating air operation. Inner panelling for lower instrument panel padding (passenger's side) and glove compartment - see operation "Inner Panelling - Lower Instrument Panel Padding, Remove and Install" and "Glove Compartment, Remove and Install" in group "C". Front footwell air duct (passenger's side) and fan motor - see operation "Air Duct - Front Footwell, Remove and Install" and "Fan Motor, Remove and Install - System A".
Release and disconnect wiring harness plug for recirculating air valve servo motor. Release recirculating air valve housing from inside (arrows).
Water deflector - see operation "Water Deflector, Remove and Install" in group "A".
Release bulkhead air intake. Remove air intake.
Release recirculating air valve housing from outside (arrows).
Pull recirculating air valve housing slightly forwards from inside (I) and unscrew below steering crossmember (II).
Remove recirculating air valve housing.
Recirculating air valve servo motor (1) from recirculating air valve housing (III, arrows).
Note: When replacing the recirculating air valve housing, the replacement part must be pre-assembled.
Affix entire perimeter of bulkhead seal to sealing groove of recirculating air valve housing (I, shaded area) - joint of bulkhead seal is located in the lower centre (II).
Insert recirculating air valve - ensure that the side with the seal (1) faces direction of engine compartment. Insert fastening clip (4) from outside until it engages in recirculating air valve - ensure correct seating of lugs (3) in groove (2) of recirculating air valve.
Push recirculating air valve into recirculating air position (facing engine compartment) and insert recirculating air valve servo motor, recirculating air valve servo motor.
Insert recirculating air valve housing and fasten from inside.
Fasten recirculating air valve housing from outside.
Bulkhead air intake to bulkhead, water deflector.
Wiring harness plug for recirculating air valve servo motor, fan motor, footwell air duct (passenger's side), glove compartment, inner panelling for lower instrument panel padding (passenger's side).
