External doors handles are creaking, especially during low ambient temperatures.

Cause:

Unsuitable material affinity.

Production Solution:

Beginning with the following VIN's: Ellesmere Port WOLOTGF48Y8050492, Antwerp WOLOTGF69Y5100015, Bochum WOLOTGF35Y2091595, Bochum WOLOTGF75Y2093117, Eisenach W0L0TGF48Y6059993 the material affinity has been improved in production.

Replacement of outer handle of front door.

NOTE:

Before removing the inner lining of the front door place a suitable protective plastic foil between inner lining of the front door and inner lining of the outside mirror to avoid damages.

Working procedure:

1. Remove inner lining of front door,

- see working procedure "Inner Panelling - Front Door, Remove and Install", unit "C" service instruction Astra-G.

2. Carefully remove water resistant foil.

3. Unlock electrical connector of the central locking system and withdraw.

6. Remove door handle cover.

7. Unlock outer handle and remove.

Installation will be conducted in reverse order.

NOTE:

For adjustment turn the knurled nut until there is no slack in the linkages.
