Transmission fluid level for vehicles with manual transmission
Vehicles:
All Corsa-B, Tigra, Combo, Astra-F, Astra-G, Zafira, Vectra-B and Omega-B with manual transmission
Condition:
All manual transmissions are checked in production using an automatic filling device and an adequate quantity of transmission fluid for the relevant transmission. A transmission fluid level check is not required - ”Life Time” filling. Account must be taken of the fact that the transmission fluid level is always below the lower edge of checking aperture - up to 16 mm (for Omega-B, approx. 9 mm).
The information in this bulletin should not be interpreted as the basis for claims unless so designated.
All component(s) fitted under warranty could be requested for return to the Warranty Material Return Centre, if after examination the components are found to be ‘No Fault Found’ then the component(s) could be returned and your account debited accordingly.
Remedy:
A transmission level check or correction is only necessary after determination of a leak or after repair operations.
For this purpose, the relevant checking bolt (I or II) must be removed and the transmission fluid must be topped up to the lower edge of the checking aperture via the bore for the reversing lamps switch (1) - F13, F17, F18.
This only applies to vehicles with FWD, not to Omega-B.
For Omega-B, the transmission fluid must only be topped up to 9 mm below the lower edge of the checking/filler aperture.
Transmission oil, Part No.: 09 129 541 (1 litre), must be used for all manual transmissions except F25/F35.
This transmission fluid can also be used retrospectively for all manual transmissions, except for LCV/RV vehicles.
