A new condenser is installed in the Astra-G and Zafira with Model Year 2002.
This modification applies to all engine versions, except the Z 20 LET engine.
In technical terms, the new condenser differs due to the receiver-dryer integrated in the condenser.
In contrast to the condensers installed to date, it is possible to replace a cartridge which contains the drying agent. With the introduction of the new condenser, the receiver-dryer, which was otherwise attached to the side of the condenser, has been discontinued.
• Service: The new condenser also has an effect on the servicing of the air conditioning. The previous filling quantities for the Astra-G and Zafira of 700 g are now reduced to 600 g of refrigerant R134a.
For the Zafira with rear A/C the previous filling quantity of 950 g is reduced to 800 g of refrigerant R134a.
The replacement of the drying agent cartridge is described in the service literature.
All affected vehicles are provided with information plates regarding the corresponding filling quantities in the engine compartment.
