Knocking noises in the vicinity of the door lock when vehicle is in motion.

Cause:

Cooperation of door lock and striker.

Production Solution:

Altered striker which can be identified by the free lateral movement of the plastic sleeve on the striker plate (plastic sleeve can be rotated), beginning with VIN’s shown in the table

Remedy:

Working procedure:

1. Open door.

2. Mark the position of striker plate (see arrow).

3. Remove striker plate.

4. Install new striker plate and align in accordance with marks.
