Remedy:

Due to the CAN-Bus self diagnosis function different diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) can be stored in the ECU although no ECU malfunction can be observed. The below listed DTC's require a special handling, deviating from the working description in the checking procedure. Two different categories are to distinguish:

1) DTC present, no malfunction shown in Pos. 1. 2) DTC not present, no malfunction shown in Pos. 2.

In general all DTC's with the status "history" have to be ignored, if no plausible ECU malfunction can be referred to the DTC, or no customer complaint is reported.

1.1 No malfunction DTC can be ignored. All Vehicles. Status "present" or "not present".

1.2 No malfunction. Check if car is equipped All Vehicles with elec. rear window with manual lifter. If not, ignore rear window DTC. If yes, repair lifter. according checking procedure.

2.1 No malfunction. DTC is not present All vehicles can be reproduced ignore. with CID. if battery is disconnected.

2.2 No malfunction. DTC is not present All vehicles ignore. in conjunction with GID and ECC.

2.3 No malfunction. DTC is not present All vehicles. DTC can be set due to ignore. voltage fluctuation

2.4 No malfunction DTC is not present All vehicles. TC can be set due to ignore. voltage fluctuation

2.5 No malfunction. DTC is not present All vehicles ignore. with radio 2.7 No malfunction DTC is not present remote control. ignore.

2.8 No malfunction DTC is not present All vehicles. ignore.
