| Complaint: | Wind noise front door, drop window in the area of outside rear view mirror. |

| Cause: | Insufficient sealing pressure of additional weatherstrip front door window guide. |
| Production: | As of the following VIN modified parts have been introduced in production: -Ruesselsheim: modified weatherstrips front door window guide: VIN W0L0ZCF 6921041078, modified drop windows: VIN W0L0ZCF 6921035913. -Ellesmere Port: modified weatherstrips front door window guide: VIN W0L0CZF6928087244 (29Apr02), modified drop windows: VIN W0L0ZCF6828090795 (21May02). |
Remedy:
In case of customer complaint support weatherstrip front door window guide with two peaces of sponge rubber.
Note:
Only if this should fail, replace window front door and additional weatherstrip front door window guide completely.
Working Procedures:
I.: Support weatherstrip front door window guide with sponge rubber
II.: Replace window front door and additional weatherstrip front door window guide
I.: Support weatherstrip front door window guide with sponge rubber
1. Remove outside rear view mirror
- see working procedure "Exterior Mirror, Remove and Install", group "C", Service Instruction Vectra-C.
2. Remove additional weatherstrip front door window guide appr. 100 mm upon outside rear view mirror. 3. Apply two peaces of sponge rubber as shown (Picture I).
4. Install weatherstrip window front door/guide rail window. 5. Install outside rear view mirror
- see working procedure "Exterior Mirror, Remove and Install", group "C", Service Instruction Vectra-C.
Note:
Only in case that the problem is not solved yet follow the next steps as of procedure II.
II.: Replace window front door and additional weatherstrip front door window guide
1. Replace window front door
- see working procedure "Sash Window - Front Door, Remove and Install (Model F69)", group "C", Service Instruction Vectra-C.
2. Replace additional weatherstrip front door window guide
- see working procedure "Additional Weatherstrip - Front Door/Sash Window Guide, Remove and Install (Model F69)", group "C", Service Instruction Vectra-C.
