An electronically controlled air conditioning system ECC (Electronic Climate Control) is available as optional equipment for the Astra-G and Corsa-C.
The description below of the EEC is based on an Astra-G. The EEC in the Corsa-C functions according to the same principles, however the design has been adapted to the conditions in the vehicle. The ECC is designed as a "one-zone system". This means that it is not possible to control the left and right side separately.
This manually controlled AC available to date has been modified in the following regards:
- Heating / air conditioning controls
- Temperature sensor
- Sun sensor
- Fan regulator.
The regulator includes all front ventilation nozzles.
The ECC is adjusted during travel on the basis of the following factors:
- Incident solar radiation
- Outside temperature
- Blow-out temperature of the vent nozzles and the footwell nozzles
- Fan program
The interior temperature is measured on starting, then the headroom temperature is calculated, as in the Omega-B. This enables the interior temperature to be regulated continuously.
